World Interfaith Harmony Week 2025: Celebrations in Kenya

Earlier this year, on February 8, 2025, Kwe Trust had the honor of co-hosting the World Interfaith Harmony Week celebrations in Nairobi. The event brought together participants from diverse faith backgrounds in a vibrant display of unity, dialogue, and community engagement. The day was filled with sporting activities, meaningful discussions, and collaborative initiatives, fostering a spirit of mutual understanding and respect.

On Saturday, February 8, 2025, Kwe Trust joined with other partners to support Amani Kibera—the day’s gracious host—in the hosting of World Interfaith Harmony Week 2025 at the Parklands Baptist Church.

In keeping with our peacebuilding mission, the event successfully brought together people of diverse religious backgrounds through sports, camaraderie, and meaningful conversation.

John Wesley’s words, “We are not called to think alike, but to love alike,” profoundly cover the spirit of unity and harmony that the World Interfaith Harmony Week celebrations brought along.

The vibrant participation of groups from the Rastafari society, Catholic, Muslim, Legio Maria, and Protestant communities made the event a true reflection of Kenya’s rich religious diversity.

Over 100 school-going children, alongside 30-40 adults, engage in various activities and from the moment they arrived, it was evident that it was more than a sports event—it was an opportunity to encourage teamwork, understanding and mutual respect: an opportunity to foster interfaith relationships and break down any faith-based barriers.

The day was filled with friendly competition as children under 18 took to the field for exhilirating football matches, while adults enjoyed engaging in team-building exercies, chess, darts, table tennis, and pool. Participants not only completed but also shared conversations, exchanged stories, and strengthened bonds beyond their faith traditions.

Kwe Trust is honored to have played a role in this incredible initiative and remains committed to promoting unity and dialogue across faith communities in Nairobi and beyond.
